I’m always downloading and trying out Linux distros. Last year I stated that SimplyMepis was the best. Since that time, the Mepis group has forked with Ubuntu. I just don’t care for it any more.
I downloaded and installed Kanotix. For the first time since I’ve owned my Dell Inspiron 9200, I’ve been able to boot off a Live CD and connect to my WPA wireless network. Awesome!
Griminal Grim's Ramblings
Well it’s been over six months of high speed goodness at Grim’s house. I had to drop a line to Robert X. Cringley about it. I read an article he wrote around 5 years ago that inspired me. Too bad it took Verizon 5 more years to get close enough to me to even consider creating a link.
Here’s to another 6 months and many more. Maybe, with some luck, Verizon will get off their asses and install DSLAMS in the remote terminal that’s 50 yards from my freakin’ house. (Someday I’ll post a pic before I hook a logging chain to it and give her it a yank.)
