She’s back!

Well, I just got back from my dad’s garage. For kicks, I hooked the pressure gauge up. I had 55psi and then it dropped to 30psi. It had gotten worse over the last few days. I had my dad pick up a replacement fuel pump just in case a little test didn’t work.  I clamped the hose at the tank after the pump pressured the line and before it shut off.  Low and behold there was 55psi. As soon as I released the vice grips, the pressure dropped to 30psi again.

After two hours of dropping the tank and hooking her back up, the Blazer is back! I nailed the gas and my son and I were both surprised at how it pulled us back into our seats. I don’t remember it EVER having that much power. It felt so good that we had to do it again!

‘95 Blazer 4.3 CPI Fuel Problems

We’ve been having problems with this POS Blazer we own. It’s only got 110K on it and the body is still in excellent condition… so we keep it.

The damn thing started to not start (pun). I read on the Internet that the fuel pump was the culprit. The thing needs to have 56-60psi to start. I changed out the pump and all was well. 2 months later the same problem emerges. This time, the system pressures up to 55psi then drops to 40psi. I changed the regulator to no avail. Looks like I’m going to have to change the pump again.
