Now that I’ve got this connection up and running, I’ve been stress testing it pretty hard. I’ve installed Ninan on the TAIL router. I also installed a 20GB drive to accept said downloads. With six threads, Ninan is pulling 200K/s plus some. iptraf states that the 915Mhz Wavelan interface is running around 1550 - 1600 kbps. So our 1.5Mbs DSL is actually 1.6Mbs DSL. 
Shhh. Don’t tell!
I got quite a few hits on my page yesterday. I posted a link on DSLReports about my wireless setup. Roughly 1000 hits/hour.
I found another use for Nagios… to tell me when the DSL donor’s power goes down. Their power went out yesterday at noon and was down until 1:30 a.m. Needless to say, we had no Internet connection last night It will all be good today though.

Tonight, I’m taking my boy “Monk”, to his first official LAN party. I got my hands on a MSI board with a Althon 64 3200+ and went ahead and built him a system. He helped me of course… but he’s only six years old. We’ll need to pick up a PCI-Express graphics card for his rig on the way up there. The built-in Radeon X200 graphics chipset is not going to muster the power he needs to play Q4, COD2, or BF2.
